For moves overseas there is no point in Reads providing an excellent packing, wrapping and shipping service if, when it arrives, the standards are not maintained.

To enable us to provide the level of service you’d expect door to door we have agents and associates around the world to carry out clearance and delivery of shipments. These agents are carefully chosen; first resource is to fellow members of FIDI, the premier international moving organisation. All FIDI members must undergo vigorous quality checks (see the section on this site relating to Industry Accreditations for more details or check www.fidi.com)

Where FIDI agents aren’t available we use members of the BAR overseas section or the Household Goods Association of America. Many of the agents are long standing associates; representatives of Reads have visited their offices to check first hand that they are up to standard. In the unlikely event that your destination does not have an agent from within the ranks of our normal resource we’ll make sure the company we choose are financially viable and vetted before we ship.

Full details of the agent chosen, contact name, address and telephone number is sent you in good time before your shipment arrives. We encourage customers to contact the agent as soon as possible to make any necessary arrangements to complete customs documents and arrange delivery. Often our agents can help with relocation issues peripheral to the move and will always be willing and able to assist.
